Hazel’s World of Miniatures
My career as a miniaturist began about twenty years ago when my father and I built my very first dolls house. During that time I discovered and joined the Johannesburg Miniature Society and what had started off as a hobby very soon became a part time occupation.
Years later when I was given a large collection of vintage miniatures my dream of having a miniature museum eventually become a reality.
I enjoy the challenge of creating scenes in awkard spaces, hence most of my work is set in old mantle clock cases. Even old wooden cigar boxes, vintage collar and hat boxes are equally challenging.
On a lazy, hot summer day there is something very special about losing oneself in the world of Lilliputian to the sound of beetles singing and waves crashing onto the sand
I hope you will enjoy looking at some of my creations
